Our friends at SEIU Healthcare PA are in the midst of a battle to maintain their nursing home workers' pay and benefits and prevent them from being slashed by the nursing homes' new owner, Vita Healthcare. Here is their message:

Workers at Somerton Center and Garden Spring Center nursing homes have dedicated their lives to caring for their residents. Now, new owner Vita Healthcare Group is slashing their wages and making healthcare unaffordable for their families.

• Vita Healthcare capped wages resulting in pay cuts of $11,000 for some of the most dedicated senior employees.
• Vita's health plan forces workers to choose between huge deductibles of up to $10,000 for families or premiums of up to $900 a month.

We demand Vita Healthcare end the lowering of standards at our nursing homes and begin investing in them. Stand with us.
